Our Process

Co-creation at every step brings your vision to life

We start with your vision and finish with your dream house by following our twelve-step process.

Our expert team streamlines your design process to be efficient and true to your vision, with room for design and budget flexibility. This allows us to present you with the perfect home build or renovation.

Project inquiry

You bring your idea to us, and we talk about it. We then bring the concept to a designer we trust to get started on your plan. If you’d prefer to use a designer of your choice, then we meet with them to discuss your ideas.

Meet with your Architect

We put you in contact with the architect designing your house and discuss the broad elements of your plan. They will run through a range of design options for you, and you’ll make some decisions and give them your creative directives.

Preliminary agreement

You sign the preliminary agreement with Fortified Construction. This is a basic agreement for us to work with you through the design and costing phase; it is not a contract to complete the build.

Concept designs

The architect will draw up the preliminary concept designs for your initial approval. You can go back and forth to ensure that the designs fulfil the creative directives and align with your vision.We work with excellent creative designers, so you’ll be in great hands.

Ballpark estimates

Our in-house team provides a ballpark quote based on the preliminary concept designs. From this estimate and the following discussions, you can revisit the preliminary plan to make any needed changes to fit your budget and any new ideas you’ve had in the interim

Rework of your design

The architect will begin your construction drawings according to your updated design directives. This can go back and forth to ensure that your construction drawings will fit within your budget and meet your expectations.

Lodgement for consent

The architect completes your construction drawings to your specifications, and your building consent application is lodged with your council.

Detailed pricing

A full pricing exercise is completed by an external QS, our in-house team, and our subcontractors. Then we present you with a final quote for your project. We will talk you through the quote and answer any questions you may have.

Contract agreement

If you accept the quote and are happy with the plans, you sign with us to complete your build.

Scheduling your build

We work with you to find the perfect time for your project. There are many factors involved in scheduling to ensure that we can complete your project with our full attention and avoid unexpected costs and delays.

Since we always fully commit to completing your project exactly to your expectations, forward-planning on materials, sub-contractors, site management, and many other details is necessary.

Construction and landscaping

We work very closely with you through the construction process to accommodate any changes you need and keep you abreast of all design decisions.

We believe that with a flexible approach and a strong relationship, we can realise the perfect outcome for you.When the time arrives, we begin your build.

Handover

When the build is complete, we take you through the project and ensure you are satisfied with the result.

We supply all the required technical documents, including warranties, and assist you in running a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) application.

Follow up

We make sure your new home lives up to the standards of your day-to-day life, and you’re happy with the finished product. We also bring a free photography team to take some photos; we’re proud of your new house too!

‍Three to six months after we present your keys, we reach out to you again to discuss any issues or queries that have arisen since the build.
